Project Summary

CAUSE is a Penn State undergraduate course in the college of Earth and Mineral Sciences. The goals of this course are to study the implications of climate change, volcanism and tectonics on human society using examples from Iceland. the class will travel to Iceland in May 2008 and will collect geophysical data to investigate glaciers, fissure swarms and volcanoes. We would like to use terrestrial LIDAR to investigate the morphology of glacial moraines, deformation of glacier toes and deformation associated with fissure eruptions.
