Project Summary
Resurvey previously marked boulders on Galena Creek Rock Glacier near Sunlight Creek in Shoshone National Forest, WY in order to track movement and ablation of the glacier using total station. Simultaneously survey the same points using RTK GPS borrowed from UNAVCO to obtain baseline data allowing for future resurveys with GPS only. Scan cirque headwall above glacier with UNAVCO TLS equipment in order to allow for virtual reconstruction of headwall and calculation of rate at which debris is eroded from headwall and deposited onto rock glacier.
