U-048 - University of Michigan Geology Field Camp

PI: Dr. Nathan Niemi
Project Lead: Nathan Niemi
Funding Source: University funding
Location:
Dates: 2013-07-15 to 2014-07-16

Project Summary

UNAVCO has supported the University of Michigan field camp (Jackson Hole, Wyoming) for many years by teaching terrestrial lidar scanning (TLS) and its applications to the imaging of geomorphic surfaces and derived interpretation for seismic hazard assessment. A proposed target study area would be the Hoback fault, near the University of Michigan field station, which has a complex geomorphic expression and controversial paleoseismic history.
